Privacy policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

The short version

  • We only collect the details you choose to send us, through the contact form or by email.
  • We use them to reply to you and to discuss the work you’ve asked about. Nothing else.
  • We don’t sell your data or use advertising cookies. If you agree, we use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, and you can change your mind at any time.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing info@jg-digital.com.

01Who we are

This website, jg-digital.com, is run by JG Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07731829). Our registered office is 2nd Floor South, One Castle Park, Tower Hill, Bristol BS2 0JA.

JG Digital Ltd is the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide how it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law: the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this policy, email us at info@jg-digital.com.

02The information we collect

When you use our contact form, we collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your organisation (optional)
  • your phone number (optional)
  • your message, including anything else you choose to tell us

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your email.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically processes the technical information needed to deliver the website and keep it secure, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. When you submit the contact form, a spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) looks at similar technical signals to confirm you’re a person rather than a bot.

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site. That includes the pages you view, how long you stay, how you found us (for example, from a search engine), your device and browser type, and your approximate location (town or country level). Google doesn’t log or store the IP addresses of UK and EU visitors. It uses them only to work out an approximate location, then discards them.

We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as details about your health, so please don’t include it in your message.

03How we use it, and our lawful basis

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each way we use your information:

Purpose

Replying to your enquiry and continuing the conversation

Lawful basis

Our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. If you’re asking about our services, it is also a step you’ve asked us to take before entering into a contract.

Purpose

Running the website and protecting it and the contact form from spam and abuse

Lawful basis

Our legitimate interest in operating a secure website

Purpose

Understanding how visitors use the site, so we can improve it (Google Analytics)

Lawful basis

Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Purpose

If you become a client: managing our work together and keeping business and accounting records

Lawful basis

Performance of our contract with you, and compliance with our legal obligations

We won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask us to. We don’t make decisions about you using solely automated means.

04Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and our business. They act on our instructions, under contracts that require them to keep your information safe:

Cloudflare, Inc.

Website hosting and security, processing of contact form submissions, and the Turnstile spam check

Resend

Delivers messages from the website’s contact form to our inbox, and sends you an automatic confirmation that we’ve received your message.

Google (Google Workspace)

Our business email, where your enquiry is delivered and stored

Google (Google Analytics)

Website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. We don’t link it to Google’s advertising products.

We may also disclose information if the law requires us to, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

05International transfers

Cloudflare, Google and Resend may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. When that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law. Examples include the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK–US data bridge”), and standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, which are built into those providers’ data processing terms.

06How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry, and any emails that follow it, for as long as they’re relevant to our working relationship. For example, it means we still have a record of our conversation if you get in touch again later. You can ask us to delete them at any time, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep something.

If we work together, we also keep business and accounting records for as long as the law requires. That is normally six years from the end of the financial year they relate to.

Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically. Cloudflare keeps technical logs for a short period, in line with its own policies.

07Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use two kinds:

Strictly necessary

Security cookies that our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set, for example to help tell people apart from automated bots. They’re essential to keeping the site secure, so under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) they don’t need your consent.

Analytics (optional)

Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>), which help us understand how the site is used. They last up to two years, and we only set them if you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner.

We don’t use advertising or social media tracking cookies. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

08Keeping your information secure

The website is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information you send us. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

09Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information
  • object to how we use your information, where we rely on legitimate interests
  • receive a copy of information you’ve given us in a portable format, where this applies

To make a request, email info@jg-digital.com. There is usually no charge. We will respond within one month, and we may first need to confirm your identity.

10Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal information, please tell us first at info@jg-digital.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and look into it without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator. You can do this at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how the website works. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
